Hi friends! I don’t know about you, but I have been seeing soooo many amazing cocktail recipes out there lately celebrating all of the great late spring/early summer produce. That whole mission of mine to cut back on the alcoholic beverage consumption before the wedding? Yea, it’s become REALLY hard for me to stick to it with all of these great ideas floating around! So, I figured if I’m not able to enjoy them to my heart’s content (as much as I wish I could), I might as well share a Memorial Day Cocktail roundup with all of you to enjoy!
Speaking of the holiday weekend, what are everyone’s plans? As I mentioned before, mine are quite boring (I can’t lie, I’m definitely not mad about it) but I want to have some fun vicariously through you all! Tell me, are you traveling this weekend and braving the madness of the roads/airports, or sticking closer to home and enjoying time with family and friends?
I plan to get a lot of blog work done, and we also have someone’s 30th birthday to celebrate (not mine!) Aside from that, we’re definitely planning on some beach time and hopefully a nice hike, and there’s word of a potential BBQ in my brother’s ‘hood on Monday.
Even though I don’t have that many exciting things on the books, I’m planning on using some of our downtime this weekend to get back into the kitchen and get my hands “dirty.” We’ve been traveling/entertaining for the past couple of weeks (and will be for many more weekends to come), which means I’ve been trying to pack in a lot of work during the week, which means I’ve lost a little bit of my creative motivation to cook and come up with new recipes, or even try new recipes from some of my favorite bloggers and cookbooks. I miss those days! So this weekend, I’m going to get back into it.
The first step for me to tap into some of my colleagues’ creativity is to share these cocktails of theirs with you! These cocktail recipes were created at all different times of the year, by all different folks, yet they all have ingredients that lend themselves incredibly well to a sunny, long weekend spent at the beach, by the pool or BBQing. And while you’re checking out these Memorial Day cocktail recipes, be sure to take some time to browse through the rest of these fabulous bloggers’ sites. One of the best things about being a food blogger is the virtual community (more to come on that in a special Sunday post!) and in a world where we’re all struggling to be seen, I’m happy to connect you with some of my other “peeps.”
So without further ado, I hope you enjoy these Memorial Day cocktails and have a wonderful weekend! XO
