Sip of Spring Elderflower Old-Fashioned Recipe
Fresh and fragrant elderflower liqueur gives this traditional bourbon cocktail a spring-like twist. It’s the perfect brunch, lunch or dinner drink to serve as the days get longer and temperatures get warmer.
Servings: 1 cocktail
- 1 ounce elderflower liqueur (I use St. Germain's)
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- 2 ounces rye or bourbon
- Orange twist
Place one large ice cube in a chilled old-fashioned glass.
Add elderflower liqueur and bitters.
Pour in rye or bourbon.
Slide orange twist down the side of the glass (on the inside), stir lightly and serve!
- To make an orange twist, use a vegetable or citrus peeler to peel about a 2- to 3-inch piece of orange peel.
- For ultimate enjoyment, use one large ice cube that will melt into the cocktail slowly as you enjoy it. You can find large cocktail ice molds here (affiliate link).
