It’s been another crazy week and this Warming Ginger Tea Whiskey Cocktail is just what I’m craving as Friday rolls around.

I got home late last night from a work trip to LA, the fiancé headed out on his Bachelor Party, and I’m getting the house ready to host my mom for the weekend. I’m really looking forward to having some one-on-one time with her, it’s pretty scarce these days. We have an auction to go to for my niece and nephew’s school, and I have my first dress fitting on Saturday! This –ish is getting real.

What are everyone else’s plans for the weekend? Got any fun adventures planned? Dining experiences? Tell me everything, I love living hearing what you’re up to! Hopefully you’re making time for some delicious food and drink, because isn’t that what weekends are all about?

This Warming Ginger Tea Whiskey Cocktail is an equally perfect little tipple for both a lazy day at home on the couch or as a way to wind down after a day of adventure-ing. We all know how calming a cup of hot tea is and, if we’re all on the same page here, whiskey is the perfect nightcap. Combine both of these with a healthy dose of ginger to soothe the tummy (both from the tea and from a splash of ginger beer), a touch of honey and I’m pretty sure you’re going to have an AMAZING night’s sleep after you sip on one of these bad boys.

And really, these are all the ingredients you need to make this delicious cocktail. I found the Ginger Pear White Tea at Trader Joe’s, but if you don’t have a TJ’s near you, any ginger-flavored tea should work just fine (or you could just order it off of Amazon using the link above, easy peasy!) We simply boil up our hot water and pour it over the honey, ginger beer and tea bag, letting it steep for 5 minutes or so (maybe more, maybe less, you choose how strong you want the tea flavor to be.) And of course we enjoy this right away, because it would be a shame to drink a cold Warming Ginger Tea Whiskey Cocktail, right?

If you’re looking for a fun weekend recipe or two, might I suggest these Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Dates or these Tahini Blondies with Whiskey Date Caramel & Sea Salt (both of which also happen to pair fabulously with a Warming Ginger Tea Whiskey Cocktail?)

Or, if you want to cool down instead of warm up this weekend (it is supposed to be in the high-70’s here in Santa Barbara), you might want to try your hand at these Blackberry Bourbon “Jammers”  or a You Go, Gin Coco.

No matter what you try, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I’m finally on Snapchat (user name: caligirlcooking) and I’ll do my best to keep you up to date on all my wekeend adventures ir you promise to do the same? I look forward to seeing everyone’s Snapisodes!! XO
